The VW Transporter T25 Or T3

The honest answer to this i dont know. From my point of view been working in the motor trade and supplying parts for these they are a VW Transporter T25. The Volkswagen part numbering system for the year 1980-1990 transporter all start 251- (left hand drive) or 252- (right hand drive) Hence why i believe amongst the trade and VW Transporter Enthusiasts they are known as T25s.

But on the Continent they seem to be refered to as T3s im not sure where this stems from but if your in Germany, Belgium, Holland etc they are refered to as Volkswagen T3s. In the United states thay dont have this problem as they are known as Vanagons.

So to Put things simply if your own a Volkswagen Transporter 1980-1990 Model you can call it:

T25
TYPE 25
T3
(NOT TYPE 3)
VANAGON
WEDGE VAN
CHEESE VAN
BRICK VAN
BREAD VAN

They all equate to the same well loved VW Van

VW Transporter T25 Bumpers and End Caps

VW Transporter T25 1980-1990. There are two types of bumpers fitted to the VW Transporter 1980-90 models. The vast majority have a Black Metal bumper with 2 plastic end caps the other type is only fitted to Top of the range caravelles / Campers which is an all in one Plastic bumper.
The Bumper End caps can sometimes be supplied with a fitting kit or usually bought as a seperate item thes make fitting the end caps a lot easier, But Be warned sometime the fitting kits cost as much as an Actual End Cap.

VW Transporter T25 Tailgates and Tailgate Struts

The Tailgate on the T25 Transporter is often prone to rusting out especially on earlier versions of the van. The Tailgate Struts / Damper which hold the Tailgate up when open are also prone to failing after a few years they are a very simple and inexpesive item to replace.

Will replace Original Hella Rear Lights (not the ULO ones diiferent bulb holders) If you have ULO Lamps you will need to buy Bulb Holders for the Hella Type. These will be available at Most VW Parts breakers and should be Fairly Cheap around £10-15.

Preview: Ultimate Dubs VW Show 2009

The 2009 Ultimate Dubs show will be held on 8th March 2009. The Venue Telford internation Centre. This venue is superb for an Indoor VW Show. I attended the show last year and was extremely impressed with not only the organisation, but the quality of Volkswagens was superb.

Slough Indoor VW SwapMeet

This Years Slough VW Meet takes place on Sunday 9th Novembder at the Usual Venue of Montem Sports Centre in Slough. This venue has proved to be very popular of the years.

Get there Early. This meet proves to be very busy, with traders for all over the UK offering some superb bargains. Been the 'last' VW Show of the season many traders have a good clearout so be sure to take a wedge.

As with most VW shows this event has been an 'ALL' VW show as opposed to an Aircooled event. Although when you check the Car Park out there are always plenty of Quality Splitscreens and Bays.

Slough VW Meet is also very good for picking up a nice van. So if your on the look out for a Van this is the show to pick one up at. Aswell as been 'out of season' with Christmas looming sellers can be negotiated into 'Doing a deal'.
